Undergraduate Chemistry Club

Undergraduate Chemistry Club/SAACS

Co-Advisors:

Chris Jaroniec (1035 Evans Lab, jaroniec@chemistry.ohio-state.edu) and Rosemary Loza (280C Celeste, rbartosz@chemistry.ohio-state.edu)

Undergraduate students with an interest in chemistry are invited to participate in the activities of this student-led OSU organization. The club meets periodically during the academic year to explore areas of student interest. Meetings in past have included presentations on cutting edge reaserch and career opportunities in chemistry, medicine, law and the environment; social functions; and tours of OSU facilities (laser, supercomputer, instrumentation center). Students do not need to major in chemistry to participate in activities. It is hoped that participation will help students in planning their future as they become exposed to career possibilities they may not have imagined.

Chemistry majors are encouraged to become a member of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS). This undergraduate student organization of the American Chemical Society offers a wide range of programs and activities to enhance their college experience and prepare them for successful careers.
