The Ohio State University Department Of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ohio State lead the country in education and research because of our vast resources, cutting-edge facilities, and outstanding faculty. We are consistently ranked as one of the best in the nation by the National Research Council and others.
Our faculty members include a member of the National Academy of Sciences, Ohio Eminent Scholars, Sloan Fellows, Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar awardees, and fellows of the American Physical Society, the American Ceramic Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Several faculty hold major national awards from the American Chemical Society and have distinguished themselves numerous times with research.
New Building
Boyd, Johnston, Aviation and Haskett were demolished during November and December. Visit our alumni page for information on the CBEC Ground-breaking that was held on the 18th of June, 2012. Alumni gathered with us at Scott Lab also, to join in on tours of the department, the stadium, the library, RPAC, and the Ohio Union. Check out our new building page for updates, pictures, live views of the construction site and time-lapse movies of the demolition. We've added some photos for you to enjoy and a slide show that highlights the "poster sessions" that were held at Scott Lab between all the other events. Stay tuned - more to come!
