As a Latvian immigrant, during a time when women were not widely accepted in the fields of math and science Inara Brubaker excelled in her academics. She earned her BS from Ohio Northern University in 1959, and her PhD in chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1963. Beyond her studies Brubaker became a beloved mentor and philanthropist here at Ohio State with scholarship funds that have helped countless students achieve their goals in the fields of chemistry and social work!
