Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Minors

Students with a special interest in chemistry or biochemistry may want to pursue a minor in one of these areas in addition to their chosen major. Pre-Health students may choose a chemistry or biochemistry minor as a good complement to their major, strengthening their preparation for medical school, pharmacy, or other professional programs. Business majors who want to pursue sales or marketing of chemicals or pharmaceuticals may choose a chemistry or biochemistry minor in order to strengthen their familiarity with chemical and biochemical terminology and concepts.

Minor program sheets are available below:

Interested students should contact the Chemistry and Biochemistry Undergraduate Office to make an appointment to meet with a chemistry or biochemistry advisor. The advisors can explain how the prerequisites and requirements fit into the student's major plan, as well as identifying course options to fit each student's interests.
