Dr. Nardo's research examines how learning environments, mentoring structures, and institutional systems shape student development in chemistry, from introductory courses through doctoral training. Dr. Nardo’s scholarship focuses on improving instruction in STEM by developing research-based frameworks for problem solving, course design, and graduate student professional development. She has led or collaborated on multiple funded projects focused on TA preparation, general chemistry reform, and science identity.  Across her work, Dr. Nardo integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to generate actionable insights that help departments create more effective and supportive educational environments. Her teaching, research, and service aim to build structures that enable all students to succeed and thrive in science.
