CBC students in the ASC Honors Program have a team of three advisors to help them navigate all of their course and honors requirements. This page gives an overview of your advising team and explains who to reach out to for different types of questions.
ASC Honors Program Advisor
Role & Responsibilities
Students will consult with their appointed ASC Honors Program counselor for:
- Procedural matters
- Information about general degree requirements
- Assistance with an Honors Contract
- Information about other special honors opportunities
How to Schedule
To schedule online, navigate to the ASC Honors Program main page and click the "schedule an appointment" button.
To schedule by phone, call the ASC Honors Office at 614-292-5104 and choose option 1.
Major Advisor
Role & Responsibilities
For general advising about courses in your specific major (such as for questions about degree and course planning), honors students are suggested to schedule appointments with the CBC staff advisors as listed below:
Chemistry Advisors
- Dr. Mike Chang advises chemistry students whose last name begins with the letter A–H.
- Ms. Holly Wheaton advises chemistry students whose last name begins with the letter I–Z.
Biochemistry Advisors
- Dr. Marie R. Southerland advises biochemistry students whose last name begins with the letter A–H.
- Ms. Angela LeCount Melamed advises biochemistry students whose last name begins with the letter I–Z.
How to Schedule
There are two ways to schedule an appointment with your CBC staff advisor:
- Online via OnCourse:
- For Care Unit, select "Advising"
- For Location, select "Chemistry and Biochemistry Advising - 110 Celeste Lab"
- For Service, select "Explore/Declare a Major" (even if your topic is different)
- Select the appropriate advisor, as shown above.
- By phone:
- Call the Undergraduate Studies Office at 614-292-1204 during normal business hours.

Faculty Honors Advisor

Faculty honors advisors will advise students regarding upper level needs, including:
- Honors Research and Thesis Project
- Graduate program advice
- Advanced course selections
