The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry teaching and research missions are supported by several core facilities – the Research Support Services (RSS). These facilities are available for researchers within our department, across campus and throughout the region. Our experienced RSS scientists and engineers are intimately involved in the research and teaching efforts through consultation, collaboration and training. Routine accomplishments include publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals, offering courses in their discipline, and designing new techniques. Other important facilities across campus are available for our users include the Campus Chemical Instrumentation Center, the Campus Microscopy and Imaging Facility, the Trace Element Research Laboratory, and the Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis.

ESR5000 Benchtop EPR – May 2021
Continuous-wave (CW), X-band EPR spectrometer is available in both room temperature and cryogenic temperature operating modes.
Bruker D8 Venture Diffractometer-Ga MetalJet - Summer 2021
Instrument is equipped with a Gallium MetalJet source and a Photon III detector as well as an Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream for variable temperature data collection from 90-500 K.

Instrument is equipped with a Moly rotating anode source and a Photon III detector as well as an Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream for variable temperature data collection from 90-500 K.
